About
Simon Summers Heritage Blacksmith is an Experimental archaeologist, consultant and tutor
Simon accepts commissions, teaches his craft to all ages and works in a sustainable way. He supports rural industries and crafts by means of using heavy horses for timber extraction to make charcoal in an ancient way which then fuels his forge fires and furnaces for smelting iron and teaching.
Simon was filmed for TV series 'Edwardian Farm' where he designed and handcrafted a copper weather vein, amongst other projects.
He runs courses and events throughout the year on an Iron Age Fort in Sussex. These range from 1-1 blacksmithing classes, to copper repoussé 2 day long ceremonial craft retreats.
Simon also runs Volunteer Action Camps throughout the year around the time of the Celtic festivals based on sharing skills of experimental archaeology and working the woodlands.
