About

Lisa Earley is a Winchester based visual artist and educator specialising in stitch and print. She specialises in freehand machine embroidery, often over a printed substrate. Lisa has broad experience responding to archival research and site-specific commissions alongside revisiting an enduring theme of Vulnerability. In 2019 she was shortlisted for the Ruskin Prize with her multi panelled piece ‘Vanitas’, which contemplates attitudes to consumerism and diminishing biodiversity. This piece and other recent works consider the place of Memento Mori in modern life and how our actions can have unforeseen reactions.
