About

Funda Ersoysal is a ceramicist working with small-batch collections that include both timeless functional ware and one-of-a-kind decorative pieces. Her practice is rooted in simplicity, slowness, and an ongoing dialogue with natural materials. She creates objects that bridge the space between nature and home—pieces that invite presence, care, and a quieter way of living.

Funda’s work is shaped by a sensitivity to material and place. She gathers local clay waste, experiments with glaze recipes made from domestic byproducts, and follows a process that is both intuitive and research-driven. Her making is guided as much by instinct as by the resistance and response of the material itself. This relationship—between maker and matter—is central to her practice.

With a background in design and a deep interest in sustainability and eco-somatics, Funda approaches clay as a living collaborator. Her process reflects her embodied experience of neurodivergence, often embracing irregularity, texture, and the imperfect as part of the work’s quiet strength. Each piece holds the traces of time, gesture, and negotiation—offering not just utility, but a sense of grounded beauty and emotional honesty.
