Allister specialises in hot glass techniques. With a wide variety of skills his studio collaborates with clients to produce custom made pieces. Allister and his team are able to free blow glass without the use of moulds to a high level of accuracy. With a wealth of experience in use of colour and patterning glass Allister is highly adaptable to work on all manor of challenges from Lighting components, pieces for film sets, Awards and private commissions through to prototyping for mass production. Based at Stourbridge Glass Museum his studio is part of the visitor experience, there you may watch Allister and his team in action.

About
Working with molten glass to blow, Cast or Sculpt. Allister very recently vastly reduced the carbon footprint of his process. Passionately seeking for a solutions Allister's studio is one of the first in the country to convert to an all electric hot shop. The studio no longer relies on Fossil fuels. From May 2024 the workshop will be running on 95% renewable energy.

Bubble Wrap Ovoid Vases Made by Allister Malcolm Glass Limited The ascent to the surface brings with it a bitter sweet moment. As I exhale I watch large bubbles form and burst into hundreds of smaller variations as they overtake me in their race to the surface. I do not wish to beat them, the sooner I arrive at the surface the sooner my experience is over. Emerging from behind a cloud the sun’s rays give each bubble a halo. Ripples on the surface now become visible and I feel a warmth in the light near the surface. Diving offers a moment of complete escapism from our world. These pieces evolve as I gain experience in diving. I’m fascinated by observations of how colour and light are effected at various depths and how this effects the state of mind.
