About
I make a range of ceramic work that is inspired by the natural world around me, from the broad horizons of the Kent marshes and coast where I live and the flora found in my local hedgerows and fields. I work with whichever technique best suits the form or subject I’m exploring, either thrown on the wheel or hand modelled, functional or purely sculptural. I’ve recently been making work that reflects and follows the seasons, including snowdrops, bluebells, buttercups and brambles -exploring the tradition of creating sprig moulds directly cast from plants and leaves.
All my work is modeled and decorated by hand to preserve the intricate details in white earthenware or terracotta clay.
A full range of work can be seen on my website.
I was Maker in Residence at Kelmscott Manor in partnership with Heritage Crafts in 2023.
