About

I am a textile artist and maker of contemporary textiles inspired by the natural environment. I have a background and training in textile design, costume design and embroidered textiles. Over the years my work has developed to include more experimental techniques alongside traditional ones. I use fabric manipulation techniques, including pleating and tucking, applique, hand & machine stitching to create work.

Current work is inspired by the coastal area that I live. The colours of the sea, sand and sky feature heavily in my work. I try to capture a sense of movement and light within the pieces by creating texture and relief to the surface of the works, accentuated by the use of shadow and light.

My work has been exhibited in exhibitions, included in publications and I am currently selected as an Aurifil Artisan for Aurifil Threads.
