Established in 1984 by Carole, Carole Kent Traditional Signwriters is a truly niche company based in the beautiful Cheddar Valley. We offer distinctive and original hand-painted signs, and we also carry out restoration projects.

We have been producing signs, hand painted projects, and restorations since 1984. We enjoy working with a huge range of colourful enamel paints, pure gold leaf (used when we are Gilding) and quality sable hair brushes in the traditional way.

Traditional doesn’t mean old fashioned, however! We can signwrite on almost any surface from wood to stone, interior or exterior. We produce signs in modern, traditional, and contemporary designs.

We are enthusiastic about using the best fonts to give the sign the style it requires. There are hundreds of fonts to choose from.

Traditional signwriting is used in conservation areas, on heritage buildings, in restaurants, hotels, sports clubs, homes, pubs, and much more.

We do quirky signs, house signs, shop fascia’s, A boards, directional signs, menu boards, blackboards, scoreboards, vehicles, interior signwriting, honours and scholarship boards, and carry out restorations of various kinds.
