About

Brigitte is a regenerative textile champion working with deeply rooted, soil-beneficial fibres like flax and nettle.

Her journey began with wild nettles, exploring their potential as a local, sustainable plant fibre. In 2023, she initiated Let’s Grow Flax, a community-led initiative that followed the full flax cycle — from seed to fibre — resulting in a pair of hand-grown, hand-processed jeans.

Brigitte teaches flax growing, nettle and flax processing, and the spinning and weaving of bast fibres, always with a focus on reconnecting people to local materials and the slow, regenerative ways of textile making. She runs workshops, online courses, and shares insights into her fibre journey on her blog: beekaymakes.blogspot.com.
