Marsh Awards 2012

The Heritage Crafts Association and the Marsh Christian Trust were delighted by the very strong field of applications for the very first award run by these two organisations in heritage craft for a trainer and a volunteer.

 

HCA at the VA Marsh Winner James PortusJames Portus, winner in the Volunteer categoryAll finalists and a guest were invited to the Heritage Crafts Association Spring Conference at the V&A which this year had as the theme 'Evolving Craft Communities'  with speakers Emma Bridgewater and Lida Lopez Cardozo in the morning.

The afternoon started by the presentation of awards and Alex Langlands, archaeologist and HCA Patron (presenter of the BBC TV series - Victorian Farm, and Edwardian Farm), introduced the finalists, who all received a certificate and announced the winners. The finalists were presented with their certificates by Alekzandra Marsh and Izzy Harrap from the Marsh Christian Trust.

HCA at VA Wayna Parrott Marsh winner TrainerWayne Parrott, winner in the Trainer categoryJames Portus was the winner in the Volunteer category, and received a cheque for £500, and Wayne Parrott  was the winner in the Trainer section, and also received a cheque for £500.

The 2013 finalists will be invited to the 2013 HCA Spring Conference. Why not think about your application now?

The Marsh Awards for Heritage Craft


The Heritage Crafts Association and the Marsh Christian Trust are delighted to offer two brand new awards for the heritage crafts sector. These awards will recognise and celebrate the exceptional individuals that contribute so much to our rich living heritage.
